Abstract:
The present study aims to scrutinize the effect of demographic variables on quality of life (QoL) among women weavers. Women weavers constitute a significant segment of the handloom workforce in Nadia District of West Bengal, yet they often experience socioeconomic vulnerabilities that influence their quality of life and health status. A descriptive cross-sectional research design was adopted. Data were collected using a structured socio-demographic schedule along with the WHO Quality of Life - Brief Scale (WHOQOL-BREF) developed by the WHOQOL Group (1994). The WHOQOL-BREF assesses quality of life across four domains: physical health, psychological health, social relationships, and environmental well-being. The analysis unfolds, that, Age significantly affected all QoL domains. Marital status influenced social relationships and environment. Years of work impacted all domains except environment. Income affected overall QoL, health, psychological, and environmental domains, but not physical health and social relationships.
