Efficacy of nutritional supplements on the well-being of working women: A review

Author(s): Abha Rani
Abstract:
Working women often face multiple physical, psychological, and social challenges due to occupational stress, household responsibilities, and lifestyle imbalances. These factors can increase nutritional deficiencies and affect their overall well-being. Nutritional supplements—such as vitamins, minerals, omega-3 fatty acids, herbal extracts, and probiotics—are widely used to support women's health. This review examines the efficacy of nutritional supplements in improving the physical, mental, and overall well-being of working women by analyzing findings from peer-reviewed studies. Evidence suggests that supplementation can improve energy levels, reduce micronutrient deficiencies, enhance mood, reduce stress, and support immune function. However, benefits depend on supplement type, dosage, baseline health status, and adherence. The review highlights the need for personalized supplementation, professional guidance, and more India-specific studies on working women.
