Abstract:This paper explores the political empowerment of Garasia women in Sirohi and Aburoad, Rajasthan. Rajasthan has many tribes and unique cultures, and Garasia women often face strong social and economic challenges. However, recent changes show they are becoming more active in local politics, joining groups, and making community decisions. This study uses interviews, focus group discussions, surveys, and observations to show how Garasia women are gaining confidence to participate, but still face challenges like old traditions, limited education, money problems, and lack of support.
The study aims to understand the social and cultural factors that affect Garasia women's political involvement. It looks closely at how traditional practices, gender roles, social order, and access to education and resources shape their ability to engage in politics. The research also examines how outside help, like government policies, affirmative action, and NGO programs, support tribal women in getting involved politically. These policies include reservation quotas, training programs, awareness campaigns, and leadership development. The study checks how effective these are in the community.
The findings help people understand what helps Garasia women, what blocks them, and offer suggestions for bringing real change. The paper aims to help policymakers and community leaders take proper steps to make political participation more open for Garasia and other tribal women.
