Food consumption pattern and food habits among working women: A special reference from Nawada District

Abstract:
In India working women play dual role in their house and working place. Therefore nutritional status of working women is factor that affect their health and productivity due to reason of their poor food consumption and bad food habit. Objective of the study to asses food consumption pattern and food habit among working women of Navada district. To collect data from respondent structured scheduled and survey method have used. Analyse the data in percentage and shows data from different types of graph and table. Findings are food consumption from food group among working women, pulces 43, milk and milk products 74 percent, meat 46 percent, egg 53 percent, green vegetable 94 percent, fruits 36 percent, sugar and jaggary 71 percent and junk food consumption is 31 percent respectiverly. 18 percent of working women skip their breakfast, 18.4 percent of working women skip their lunch and 6 of working women do not take dinner. Table also specifies the outside food consumption pattern of working women. 78.4 percent of working women consume outside food sometimes while 8.4 percent of them consume outside food 2 to 3 days in a week and 10.4 percent working women eat outside food 4 to 5 times in a week. Only 2.8 percent of women consume it daily.
