Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a unique movement driving the innovative approaches of various fields and even academic research works. Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) is an interdisciplinary approach to human development that addresses the psychological and social aspect of human development, biological aspect, the emotional aspect, the intellectual aspect, the moral aspect as well as the development of individuals at different stages in their lives and the consequent relationships within the family system. This paper analyzes the multidimensional role of AI in improving research done in the field of human development and family studies since there are clear contributions in AI in terms of procedures to frame research methods, enhancing the speed at which data are analyzed and the ability to leverage inferences or uses in HDFS. The application of Artificial Intelligence in developmental assessments, modelling of family behaviour, early intervention strategies, and cross-cultural research is also discussed in this paper. Nevertheless, the ethical issues and socio-technical inequalities, as well as the ways to use AI responsibly, are discussed and put forward in this article.
