Rajasthan is culturally very rich state. The vibrant costumes, energetic folk dances and rhythmic folk songs gives the perfect contrast to the barren desert of the state. Rajasthan has lots of folk dances, pertaining to different regions and castes. Rajasthani folk culture is very well known across the globe. There are various folk dances which are performed in Rajasthan at different times by specific castes. One of the folk dances of Rajasthan, which is performed by women of Kanjar caste is Chakri Dance. They move their body parts very fast and in sensual manner. Each folk dance has a proper costume, which plays an important role in enhancing the overall experience for the beholder of the dance performance. Therefore, the present study was done to study the influence of costumes on Chakri Dance performed by women of Kanjar caste of Rajasthan.
