Inclusive innovation through sustainability of textile recycling in Tiruppur

Abstract:
The textile industry in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, a major hub for knitwear production, faces significant environmental and social challenges due to large-scale textile waste. This study explores how inclusive innovation, gender-inclusive technology, and sustainable recycling practices can mitigate these challenges. By adopting a systematic review and meta-analysis methodology, the research synthesizes existing literature on textile recycling, community engagement, and gender inclusivity to assess their impact on sustainability. The findings highlight the importance of technological advancements, community participation, and policy support in promoting a circular economy within the textile sector. The study also emphasizes the need for gender-responsive strategies to enhance women's participation in textile recycling, ensuring equitable access to technology and economic opportunities. The research contributes to the discourse on sustainability by advocating for an integrated approach that balances environmental conservation, economic development, and social inclusion.
