Abstract:
In the years 2021–2022, this study was carried out in the Odisha district of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar city (Buxi bazar, cantonment road, Barabati stadium, Balijatra ground, Balianta, Atala, Hanspal, and Vani Vihar). This study looked at women's employment and economic empowerment among 400 sample members, 200 of whom were employed and 200 of whom were jobless and were above the age of 18. Women's empowerment, also known as female empowerment, can be characterized in a number of ways, such as elevating women's position via training, education, awareness, and literacy, or by accepting women's perspectives or actively seeking them out. Women's empowerment gives them the tools and freedom to choose how to respond to many societal issues that affect their lives. They could be able to rethink gender norms or other similar roles, which might give them greater freedom to go after their objectives. Empowerment of women has gained substantial attention in the fields of economics and development. Women who are economically empowered are able to manage and gain from resources, assets, and income.
