Abstract:Women’s education plays a pivotal role in advancing nutrition security, health, and sustainable development, particularly in India. Educated women are more likely to make informed dietary choices, prioritize hygiene, and advocate for policies that enhance community health. This review explores the impact of women’s education on nutrition security, analyzing how education helps women overcome barriers such as poverty, climate change, and gender inequality. India’s initiatives, including Poshan Abhiyaan and SWABHIMAAN, demonstrate how targeted educational programs improve women’s agency in managing family nutrition, driving community health, and fostering economic resilience.
By empowering women through education, these programs promote comprehensive development. Educated women act as key agents of change, enhancing household nutrition and advocating for healthier practices and better food policies. Moreover, addressing gender disparities in education is crucial for achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) and building resilience against food insecurity. This review underscores the importance of integrating women’s education into nutrition and development policies to create a pathway for healthier, more equitable communities.
