Abstract: Stoles, dupattas or scarves hold both cultural and functional significance in South Asia, where they have evolved from simple coverings into versatile fashion accessories. These garments, particularly dupattas, have long been used in traditional settings for modesty and protection but are now key elements in contemporary fashion, blending ethnic and modern aesthetics. The current study focuses on the purchase and usage practices of stoles among consumers at Hisar, Haryana examining their purchasing patterns, design preferences and fabric choices. Data from 60 respondents reveal that while consumers appreciate affordable stoles, there is growing demand for more innovative designs. The findings indicate that online shopping platforms dominate the market for stoles, with colour, motifs and fabric quality playing a critical role in consumer decisions. The paper underscores the enduring appeal of these accessories in both cultural and fashion contexts.
