As the public aesthetic continues to improve and people's self-awareness about clothing grows, unique and diversified clothing is progressively becoming the norm in the market. Enterprises need to reduce the garment design and manufacturing cycle, maximize the design goal value, optimize design resources, and increase the rate at which they utilize innovative aspects of clothing in order to get greater living space. The modular design of clothing creates directed design standards for the design of different clothing components by streamlining the design process, which significantly increases the flexibility and productivity of clothing production. The current inventive development of the garment market is significantly influenced by the modular mode, spanning from design approach to application procedure. As a result, this study investigates the viability of modular garment design in the marketplace, as well as its potential for growth and future directions for this emerging trend in clothing design.

Clothing influences all aspects of a child’s development and for every child proper choice of clothes is very important. Mother who has to take care of children’s clothes and has to see and face that the clothes should be well fitted and made of proper material but the fast growth of children mother has to face major problem of garment size that become small and unfit very fast. One of the greatest needs of this age is for longer wearing apparel that maintains both good fit and appearance through its life. Buying and making garments too large with the idea that the child will grow into them is false economy.

Since the children’s garments are very expensive, buying too many garments or selecting larger garments are not a good choice, further too large garments make the child look clumsy and uncomfortable. Considering the prices of children’s garments it becomes difficult to throw away carefully chosen garments because of size and fit constraints. Here one of the best suited solution or option is to use modular garment. Modular fashion refers to clothing items that have detachable pieces, so that one can easily alter the clothing item to suit changing needs and tastes over time. It incorporate and combine all or some of the construction methods like zippers, hooks, eyes, drawstrings to allow users to add or remove facets of garments or change its silhouette. Further its ability to taken a part any piece or segment of garment and reassembled allows wearer to replace only damaged parts of a garment rather than purchasing an entirely new garment. Pattern engineering for modular garments involves technical, scientific and mathematical knowledge of patterns to modify and develop patterns with the objective of developing a garment which meets the function specific requirements, is comfortable to wear and contribute to maximize the efficiency and performance of the wearer. The approach of designing modular garments will reduce the consumption of many garments which impacts the environment negativity in numerous ways and enabling the consumers to save many and planet at the same time.
