An assessment of preschooler's activities in Vrindavan

Author(s): Nidhi Singh
Abstract:
The increasing prevalence of mobile phone usage among preschoolers raises significant concerns regarding its impact on their development. This study explores both the potential benefits and risks associated with mobile phone use in early childhood. While mobile devices can provide educational opportunities and enhance digital literacy, excessive screen time may impair social skills, disrupt sleep patterns, and lead to physical health issues. The research, conducted in Vrindavan, Mathura, involved a sample of 60 preschool children and aimed to assess their mobile phone usage patterns. The findings highlight the necessity for parents to implement effective strategies for managing screen time, including setting limits, selecting age-appropriate content, and encouraging alternative activities. Ultimately, fostering a balanced approach to technology can support healthy development in young children.
