Abstract:This sociological study examines the complex relationship in the context of Daya Basti, India's slum culture, and social deviation between educational deprivation and crime. The study uses qualitative research techniques such as observations, interviews, and document analysis to disentangle the intricate interactions between socioeconomic variables that influence criminal activity among slum dwellers. This study aims to investigate how educational opportunities or lack thereof intersect with larger sociocultural dynamics to shape patterns of criminal behavior and social deviation by looking at the lived experiences and perspectives of community members. This study intends to advance knowledge of the relationship between educational deprivation and crime in urban slum contexts in India by examining the complex aspects of slum culture and its consequences for social order and control. The study also aims to provide guidance for social interventions and policies that target the underlying causes of crime, encourage social inclusion, and open up educational opportunities for residents of slum areas.
