Millets are not only known as superfoods due to the nutrients present in them, but they are also resilient crops. 2023 is announced as the international year of millets 2023, and different aspects are related to the cultivation and processing of millets and its various products in the hilly region of Uttarakhand this paper carried out a review study to understand the role of millet cultivation in women empowerment, problems faced by the women in hilly areas during the production and cultivation of millets. This study has taken data from secondary sources such as papers available on Research Gate and Google Scholar. It is found that the hilly region has a climate and geographical conditions that are great for the production of millet with this there are several challenges for cultivators of millet as there are many deficiencies in facilities.
