Abstract:Extensive examination of osteoporosis intricacies and its correlation with diverse factors underscores the pivotal role of dairy products in preserving bone health. From primary and secondary osteoporosis to risk factors and the intriguing “calcium paradox,” the discussion extends to the positive impact of fermented dairy products containing beneficial bacteria. The article emphasizes the vital nutrients present in milk and dairy, their influence on bone health, and recommended calcium intake for various age groups. Compelling data highlights the lasting benefits of childhood dairy consumption on bone health, exploring calcium levels in different dairy products. The crucial role of vitamin D in osteoporosis prevention is outlined, supported by a clinical trial demonstrating the positive effects of fortified soft plain cheese on bone resorption.
