A comparative study on dietary habits of teenagers of home science students and non-home science students of Sultanpur city

The objective of present investigation was arncomparative study on dietary habits of teenagers of home science students &rnnon-home science students. This study sought to find out whether factorsrnwhich affect the dietary habits and nutritional status of teenagers of homernscience and non-home science students. The aim of this study was to determinernthe dietary habits and nutritional status of teenagers of home science andrnnon-home science students. A questionnaire was developed for the collection ofrndata concerning to their eating habits and food choice. A random selection ofrn100 respondents of 13 to 19 years old female from the population of homernscience and non-home science areas of Sultanpur district. Nutritional statusrnwas estimated on the basis of the body mass index. After the analysis of thernresult it was found that, (50% per cent and 66per cent) teenagers werernunderweight respectively, normal weight (46 per cent and 34 per cent)rnrespectively and overweight (4% per cent per cent) respectively in home sciencernand non-home science respondents. (72per cent and 44 per cent taken fresh fruitrnin Regular consumption & sometime 24%& 54% include in the diet. 80% homernscience respondent include GLV daily in the diet & 78% non-home sciencernrespondents. consumption of milk 48 per cent, and 46 per cent sometimernconsumption of milk 36 per cent and 38 per cent.
